Morning Routine to Start Your Day

Start your day with a few minutes of deep breathing exercises. This can set a positive tone for the day, helping you approach work with a calm and focused mindset. Deep breathing in the morning can also increase your energy levels and improve your mood.

Incorporating Micro-Breaks

Take short breaks during work hours for a few minutes of mindful breathing. This can be especially helpful if you have a hectic schedule. Even a couple of minutes of deep breathing can re-energize you and enhance your productivity when you return to your tasks.

How to Handle Stressful Situations

Practice deep breathing when you encounter stressful situations at work. When you feel overwhelmed, take a few moments to breathe deeply. Inhale slowly and deeply through your nose, hold your breath for a few seconds, and then exhale slowly through your mouth. Repeat this process a few times to calm your nerves. Use the box breathing technique by following the steps below. 

  • Step 1: Breathe in, counting to four slowly. Feel the air enter your lungs.

  • Step 2: Hold your breath for 4 seconds. Try to avoid inhaling or exhaling for 4 seconds.

  • Step 3: Slowly exhale through your mouth for 4 seconds.

  • Step 4: Repeat steps 1 to 3 until you feel re-centered.

Evening Wind-Down Suggestions

Incorporate breathing exercises into your evening routine to help transition from work to personal time. This can signal to your body and mind that it's time to relax.
